WORLD HEART DAY BY DOCCONSULT

We all are celebrated world Heart day on 29th September every year in all over the world. We celebrate this day globally in order to create awareness about various heart diseases, and how you can take care of your health which is the preliminary reason why all of us exist today. 

Created by the World Heart Federation, World Heart Day provides information all over the world that CVD, including heart disease and stroke, is the world’s leading cause of death, claiming 17.5 million lives each year.

What happens on World Heart Day?

On this day Governments and non-government organizations celebrate and promote World Heart Day with events such as fun runs, public talks, concerts, and sporting events. The World Heart Federation (WHF) arranges awareness events in more than 100 countries. They Conduct many activities such as:

  • Health checks.
  • Sports events, including fitness, run and walk sessions.
  • Public talks and technology forums
  • Stage shows and concerts.
  • Exhibitions.

World Heart Day celebrated every year to inform people around the globe that heart disease and stroke are the world’s main cause of death. World Heart Federation collaborates with organizations such as WHO to spread the news that at least 80 percent of premature deaths from heart disease and heart attacks could be avoided if the main risk factors – which are tobacco, alcohol, poor diet and physical inactivity – are controlled. World Heart Day first celebrated in 1999 and is held on the last Sunday/Saturday of September every year.

Risk factors

Risk factor are the condition or habits that make a individual more likely to develop a disease, we are mentioning some of the existing risk factor as niche:



Age :

Ageing will increase your risk of damaged and narrowed arteries and weakened or thickened heart muscle.

Menopause factor :

Generally the risk of most heart disease is in men. However, women’s risk increases after menopause.

Smoking:

Smoking causes breathing problems, lung cancer and heart attack. People who smoke 2-4 times in a day more likely to get heart disease. Nicotine creates blood clots more likely, which can lead to strokes or heart attacks.

Family history:

One of the main reasons of heart disease is the family history. Because it increases your risk of coronary artery disease, especially if a parent developed it at an early age (before age 55 for a male relative, such as your brother or father, and 65 for a female relative, such as your mother or sister).

Poor diet

A diet which is high in fat, salt, sugar and cholesterol contributing to the development of heart disease

High blood pressure

If you don’t control your blood pressure, then it can impact on hardening and thickening of your arteries, narrowing the vessels through which blood flows.

Diabetes

Diabetes is the biggest risk for heart diseases. Obesity and high blood pressure both conditions share similar risk factors&

Exercise

As you know Exercise is the best way to eliminate all the diseases. In order to keep your heart pumping smoothly, it is important to do exercise every day. A routine of 30-45 minutes daily exercise or any other form of physical activity is mandatory to keep the arteries flexible. It also keeps the blood pressure levels in check.

Healthy Diet

All of us know that eating healthy is the basic key to live longer. But still many people ignore healthy eating. What you consume, it also impacts on your body. So it is up to you that you should always eat healthy and fresh food.

Weight

The main reason for your heart diseases is the increase in body weight. So it is necessary for you to keep an eye on the weighing machine to manage your weight.

No smoking, no alcohol

To remove any kind of heart disease, you have to avoid consumption of both. This may be difficult to follow, but you have to do this for good health. If you are habitual of them, then slowly reduce and leave in the last. Smoking lift up blood pressure levels and causes an irregular heartbeat. Overall, it disturbs the normal functioning of the heart.

Stress

Stress also affects your heart rate. And it can also increase heart rate, which can in turn result in loss of oxygen leading to chest pain. If you are always in stress, then it’s also impact on your heart rate.

So always be engaged in your hobbies and keep stress low.
